For the 2017/18 period, survey findings showed that graduate employment was 68%; although this was an increase from the survey of 2016/2017, where the employment was 66%, there is a decline from 75% when compared to the survey of 2015/16. An estimated 27% of the respondents reported being unemployed, with the main reason for unemployment being limited job opportunities. Approximately 60% of the graduates surveyed said they were employed in the public sector. The main areas of employment activity continue to be in the fields of Financial and Insurance activities, Education or Healthcare and Social Services in 2017/2018. Most of the respondents (35.7%) were employed in the Professional and Research Staff job category. An estimated fifty percent (56%) of respondents earned a monthly salary of less than $7000, and approximately 24% earned $10,000 and above, with the average time to find employment being about seven months.
