UWI Graduate Tracer Survey 2018

For the Class of 2018, survey findings showed that graduate employment was 57% in Phase 1 and 68% in Phase 2. In phases 1 and 2, an estimated 37% and 28% of the respondents reported being unemployed, respectively, with the main reason for unemployment being limited job opportunities. Most persons were employed in the public sector, 56% and 58% in phases 1 and 2, respectively. The main areas of employment activity were in the fields of Education, Health & Social Services and Financial & Insurance. In addition, most respondents (34%) were employed in the Professional and Research Staff job category. Half the respondents in Phase 2 and 62% in Phase 1 earned a monthly salary of less than $7000, and less than 20% earned $10,000 and above in both phases, with the average time taken to find employment being approximately six months.
