Public Sector Investment Programme 2008

In fiscal 2007, a new approach to the preparation of the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) was initiated by the Ministry of Planning and Development confirming the Government’s commitment to achieving the goals of Vision 2020. This new approach entailed the re-structuring of the PSIP to achieve a closer alignment of programmes and projects with the strategic plans of Ministries and Departments and with the policy prescriptions, strategies, goals and objectives outlined in the National Strategic Plan (NSP) under each of the following five development pillars:

• Developing Innovative People
• Nurturing a Caring Society
• Governing Effectively
• Enabling Competitive Business
• Investing in Sound Infrastructure and the Environment
