UWI Annual Report 2018/2019

As in previous years, this report is filled with the good news of awards, achievements and ample evidence of a Campus community that remains committed to excellence in teaching and research, a best-in-class student experience, and to providing high-value services and support to local and regional stakeholders – from the surrounding communities to local and regional governments and organisations.

However, this was also a year when the Campus proved all too vulnerable to the insecurities gripping the country and the economic difficulties facing an individual and the region. While the Campus has achieved much, one needs to understand the campus community's pressures to appreciate some of the achievements highlighted in this report. The Principal has often discussed the need to set regional and institutional priorities around building a region and resilient people.
